Researchers swap in human brain cells for a mouse's cortex
Nearly full incorporation of human organoid cells into mouse cortex replacements was achieved: 85% of implanted animals incorporated graft tissue, which contributed 92% of the cells in the cortex, producing synchronized neuronal activity and long-distance projections detected as far as the spinal cord.
